YVES SAINT LAURENT c. 1978 Quilted Silk Jacket

An amazing Yves Saint Laurent quilted silk jacket from c. 1978, the Asia inspired collection era. Yves Saint Laurent launched many variations of the quilted silk jacket over the course of his career, a definite signature design. This jacket is a wonderful example. It is made of a fine and shiny blue and purple silk that is lightly padded and artfully quilted. The cut is oversized and voluminous, with a small mandarin collar, wide sleeves and side pockets. The jacket closes with nine buttons to the front. Made in France.
