LORIS AZZARO c. 1990s Blue Silk Taffeta Ball Gown w/ Train & Stole

LORIS AZZARO c. 1990s Blue Silk Taffeta Ball Gown w/ Train & Stole

This regal vintage Loris Azzaro gown from the 1990s comes with the royal provenance of Princess Diane of France, Duchess of Wurttemberg, "princesse rebelle" and internationally acclaimed painter, sculptor, fashion designer and philanthropist. She often chose Loris Azzaro‘s designs for formal events.

This gown is crafted from yards and yards of dark blue silk taffeta with decorative floral adornments and features a strapless fitted bustier bodice with densely gathered fabric, internal boning and a built-in wired bra. The skirt is incredibly full (it is padded with a generous amount of netting for structure and volume) and features a dramatic train. The dress closes with a back zipper and metal hooks and eyes and comes with a complementing shoulder stole with a large silk flower and a hidden hook and eye closure beneath. The dress is lined in blue silk taffeta and hand-finished. Please note that this piece is unsigned. A reference photo is available upon request.
