OSCAR DE LA RENTA c. 1969 Vintage Metallic Lurex Maxi Evening Dress

This stunning vintage Oscar de la Renta evening dress from c. 1969 bears the sought after early Boutique label and is crafted from a super lightweight fairylike beige organza fabric with an abstract gemometric print in beautiful pastel hues including salmon and fuchsia pink, golden kiwi green and steel blue, opulently shot with gold metallic threads. Conveying ethereal beauty, the dress features a buttoned bodice with a large collar and long billowing sleeves with narrow cuffs. The floor-length skirt is slightly flared and beautifully holds its shape due to the immanent structure of the organza fabric. The front buttons are covered in the same fabric, and the hidden snap buttons that close the cuffs as well as the front of the dress from the waist down to the hips are all covered in silk for lining and sewn on by hand. The dress is fully lined except for the sleeves in a silky nude fabric. The waist is secured by a hidden hook any eye closure.
