A rare Gianni Versace Couture denim jacket from Spring 1992 featuring the iconic leopard print that played a major role in the collection - pieces with this print have been modeled on the runway by Karen Mulder and Marpessa Hennink (reference pictures via Vogue Runway
). Furthermore, this jacket was part of Versace's ad campaign 1992, worn by Linda Evangelista. The leopard print made a grand reappearance in the Spring 2018 Tribute Collection that revived Gianni Versace's most iconic designs from 1991-95 (modeled by Kaia Gerber et al., reference pictures via Vogue Runway
). This print is an absolute celebrity favorite, having been worn by Lady Gaga (MMVA 2011, Joanne World Tour, Dallas, December 2017), Katy Perry (Jimmy Kimmel Live, March 2018) and Rita Ora (The Fashion Awards, London, December 2017).
The jacket is made of a lightweight cotton denim with the leopard print in a shocking dark yellow and black. It features a cropped cut with breast pockets and closes with gold-tone metal medusa buttons. 90% cotton, 10% nylon, unlined. Made in Italy.
Very good vintage condition. There appears to be some gradual colour bleeding from the black into the yellow areas. Light wear to the buttons.
