Sold - MICHEL GOMA 1978 Documented Silk Lamé Evening Set Size S

A rare Michel Goma evening set from 1978 comprising a blouse and a maxi skirt. Both pieces are made from a fine silk in a deep burgundy red, shot with metallic gold and silvery black lurex threads that form a floral pattern. The blouse features a slim cut with lightly padded shoulders and long sleeves with buttoned cuffs. The collar extends into two long bands that are tied into a bow. Fabric-covered buttons. The skirt falls widely flared in soft pleats and sits at calf-length. Side zipper and metal hooks & eyes. 100% silk. The skirt is fully lined and opaque, the blouse is left unlined and sheer. Made in France.

Michel Goma is one of those lesser known designers that left a great legacy. He owned his eponymous couture house from 1958 to 1963, worked as head designer for Jean Patou from 1963 to 1973 and for Balenciaga from 1987 to 1992. Reference pic from L'Officiel Paris, 1978.
