An iconic Yves Saint Laurent peasant top with front lacing, c. 1976/77. Yves Saint Laurent created these tops for the Russian Collection of Fall 1976 and then released further designs for his Spanish inspired Spring 1977 collection. These tops are one of the designer's most sought after designs and instantly recognizable. They were heavily featured in ads and editorials and are very well documented. This top is made from sienna brown cotton and features a seven hole lacing with a long braided cord with tassels. Edges and straps are trimmed with brown and white cording. 100% cotton, unlined.
