PIERRE CARDIN c. 1967 Cosmocorps Documented Vintage Suit Skirt & Jacket Size XS
This rare and very well documented vintage Pierre Cardin suit from c. 1967 is made of a medium weight wool crêpe in a deep tomato red and comprises a jacket and the matching skirt. Cut and tailoring are exquisite. The jacket features a sharp fitted cut with 2/3-length sleeves, a single pocket with pronounced padded edges and a very distinctive asymmetrical metal clasp closure. The skirt features a flared a-line cut that beautifully holds its shape and finishes above the knee. It closes at the back with a hand-set zipper and metal hooks and eyes. Both jacket and skirt are fully lined and hand-finished.

A similar Pierre Cardin suit is held in the permanent collection of the FIDM Museum, Los Angeles.
The suit presents as excellent. The exterior fabric is fresh without any marks, stains or damages, apart from some minor snags as well as imperfections near the skirt closure. General scratches and discolouration to the gold-tone metal closures. General signs of wear and age to the lining of both jacket and skirt - minimal grubbiness that remains after dry-cleaning, small holes - nothing major. The skirt‘s hemline is backed with extra lining. Its cotton thread seam has come loose with age and would need to be fixed with a few easy stitches. As the suit would make a beautiful collector's item, we preferred to leave this as is in order to preserve its original state.
