DIOR BY JOHN GALLIANO
John Galliano’s tenure as creative director of Dior from 1996 to 2011 was defined by an opulent and highly theatrical approach to fashion. His runway shows became elaborate visual spectacles, combining historical references, fantasy, and dramatic presentation on a scale rarely seen in luxury fashion. In the early 2000s, Galliano introduced increasingly daring cuts and incorporated vibrant colours, prominent logos, and streetwear influences into his collections. Logo-printed denim, slogan tank tops, and distinctive accessories became particularly popular with celebrities and fashion followers, contributing to the decade’s distinctly glamorous and ultra-sensual aesthetic. Among Galliano’s most recognisable signatures were his glamorous bias-cut dresses, produced in a wide range of luxurious fabrics and often characterised by asymmetric cuts and intricate side-button closures. These pieces have since become highly sought-after by collectors.
