This rare and collectible small vintage Christian Dior hat, circa late 1940s, is made of dark brown velvet and adorned with a large brown ostrich feather. It has a rigid half-moon shape with rounded edges and is worn on the side of the head. It is held in place with two small combs attached to the inside. Similar designs were an essential accessory in Christian Dior's Fall 1947 Haute Couture collection (reference photos on request).
CONDITION Very good vintage condition with minor general signs of wear consistent with age. Please note that one of the combs has come loose and would need to be reattached. The other comb is not sewn at all, but pushed through the inner grosgrain ribbon to attach. Sold as is. We do not know how the combs were attached originally.
