Jean-Louis Scherrer was a Parisian couturier who founded his eponymous couture house in 1962 after working alongside Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent. Renowned for his opulent aesthetic, Scherrer created richly embellished designs featuring intricate embroidery, hand-beading and lavish trimmings. In the 1990s, Erik Mortensen and later Stéphane Rolland continued the house’s distinctive sense of glamour and opulence.
