Documented vintage Spring 1988 Jean-Louis Scherrer runway numbered floral silk jacquard strapless bustier mini dress. Rare collectible Prêt-à-Porter piece featuring a vibrant multi-colored flower print and a draped wrap skirt.
This numbered vintage Jean-Louis Scherrer dress is a rare runway design from the Spring 1988 collection, masterfully crafted from a vibrant floral silk jacquard woven with small dots throughout. The bold, distinctly 1980s floral pattern is rendered in vivid shades of yellow, purple, green, turquoise, and pink against a bright blue ground, creating a striking graphic effect.
The dress is designed as a fitted mini dress with a draped skirt featuring a rounded hem that overlaps at the front. The strapless bustier bodice is closely fitted and reinforced with internal boning for a structured silhouette and secure fit. At the right waist, two long attached fabric panels can be flexibly tied to create different draping and statement effects. The dress fastens at the back with a zipper and metal hook-and-eye closure, with an additional internal waist stay for a secure fit. It is fully lined in blue acetate or a similar synthetic fabric. The original material label has been removed. Made in France and numbered 403030.
A vibrant and glamorous 1980s statement piece, perfect for summer occasions, holidays and cocktail parties.
