The German fashion and lifestyle magazine Elegante Welt, established in 1911, seamlessly blended national and international high fashion with high society topics, showcasing sophisticated imagery. Its pages featured the work of renowned German photographers such as F. C. Gundlach, Regina Relang, and Willy Maywald, alongside contributions from international luminaries like Louise Dahl-Wolfe, Lillian Bassman, Richard Avedon, Melvin Sokolsky, Tom Palumbo, and Gleb Derujinsky - many of whom were celebrated for their work with Harper's Bazaar in the US. In 1969, Elegante Welt merged with the German edition of Madame.
