CHANEL Fall 1992 Vintage Chain & Leather Statement Belt Runway Piece Size 75 / SMALL

An exceptionally rare vintage Chanel statement belt from the Fall 1992 collection, created under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld and jewellery and accessories designer Victoire de Castellane.

This substantial 7,5 cm wide black leather belt features an oversized leather-covered buckle and striking double-row chain embellishments. The heavy gold-tone metal chains are interwoven with black leather strips and adorned with six individually designed medallions featuring iconic Chanel CC insignia.

A particularly impressive runway piece, worn in two different looks in the Fall 1992 collection, with the chain and medallion embellishments positioned at the front and the buckle at the back. It can, of course, also be styled the other way around.

The belt is fully leather-lined and signed Chanel Collection 2-9, Made in France on the reverse. 

CONDITION

The belt is in very good vintage condition, with some signs of wear and age to the leather. An additional adjustment hole has been added further along the belt. This is not particularly noticeable when worn and can be fully concealed by the buckle when using the original first hole.

Two ends of the leather strips interwoven into the chains have come loose at the central attachment, where the glue no longer holds. They could easily be reattached. The inner leather lining of the buckle has also become slightly loose along one edge, although it remains in place. Both are minor details that could be easily repaired. The gold-tone metal is in excellent condition.
