LORIS AZZARO c. 1976 Vintage Beaded Lattice Straps Maxi Evening Gown Size S
This rare and iconic vintage Loris Azzaro gown from 1976 is one of the designer's most coveted creations and very well documented. Crafted from a soft peach jersey fabric, the dress features intricate lattice straps that crisscross across the front and open back and are embellished with delicate gold beading. The dress has a fitted bust and flared maxi skirt. Side zipper closure. The straps fasten at the top of the shoulders with hooks. No material label, 100% synthetics, unlined. Made in France, finished by hand throughout.
The dress in the same color graced the cover of Cosmopolitan November 1976, photographed by Francesco Scavullo, modeled by Clotilde. Versions of this dress can also be found in the book "AZZARO FIFTY SPARKLING YEARS" on pp. 50/51 (pictured with the designer, photo by Helmut Newton), p. 69 (pictured in L'Officiel n. 612 from 1974, modeled by Ewa Swan) and p. 76 (modeled by singer Sheila, pictured with the designer, photo by Giancarlo Botti).
Very good vintage condition with a few missing beads that can easily be replaced if desired and a few small faint marks on the skirt, nothing obvious.
