Critic Tim Blanks penned an enthusiastic hymn of praise on Roberto Cavalli's opulent Fall 2012 collection: "In its more-is-never-enough excess, this was the most impeccably styled, luxurious collection Cavalli has ever shown. (...) a de trop, Fellini-esque grandeur. (...) an extraordinary new menagerie (...) Every outfit was a book - or at least a movie. (...) Today's show was one long, sustained holler of unholy glee."
This is look 6 from the collection. A sculptural dress densely embroidered with gunmetal glass beads and amethyst sequins. The piece carries substantial weight, supported by a snake-print leather harness. The skirt is balloon-shaped, with beadwork and sequins arranged in an organic, almost otherworldly pattern. Fastens at the back with a concealed zipper and press studs. The leather shoulder straps open fully for ease and comfort when dressing.
Materials: Bos Taurus (cow) leather, main fabric and lining 100% silk, secondary fabric 100% polyamide. Made in Italy.
CONDITION Excellent, unworn condition. Subtle wear on the metal zipper and minor bead loss (around 10 gunmetal beads) along the left edge of the zipper are the only imperfections.
