YVES SAINT LAURENT Fall 1982 Vintage Documented Velvet Evening Suit w/ Bag

This amazing Yves Saint Laurent evening ensemble from Fall 1982 comprises a velvet jacket with spectacular puff sleeves, a velvet skirt and the original matching suede bag. The jacket is a masterpiece. It features a fitted bodice with a beautiful peplum waist, a front closure with black cut glass buttons and ultrawide puff sleeves with opulent ruffles and buttoned ruffled cuffs. The skirt is widely flared and sits at calf-length. It has hidden side pockets and closes with a zipper and a metal hook & eye at the side. Both pieces are crafted from Saint Laurent's typical first-class quality velvet in a dark bottle green. The sleeves are made of rustling silk taffeta with an iridescent sheen. The skirt is trimmed with a braided black edge - one of Saint Laurent's signature design elements. The set comes with its matching suede bag featuring a flap with reptile embossed leather edges and hidden snap button closure and a twisted cord strap. Lined in green grosgrain fabric.
