YVES SAINT LAURENT Spring 1977 Spanish Collection 3 pc. Peasant Ensemble Size XXS-XS

This iconic vintage Yves Saint Laurent peasant ensemble from the famous Spring 1977 Spanish Collection consists of a blouse, maxi skirt and lace-up corset belt. The blouse and skirt are made from heavy, bright red cotton and feature the instantly recognizable rick-rack detailing. The belt is made from a lighter black cotton. The blouse has a slightly flared cut with a wide neckline and wide, 3/4-length sleeves with elasticated cuffs. Internal bra strap keepers. The flared, ankle-length skirt has concealed side pockets and fastens with a zipper, a button and a metal hook and eye at the side. The wide corset belt has five-hole lacing. The pieces form a rare and magnificent ensemble as well as three extremely versatile individual pieces and are highly collectible. 100% cotton, unlined. Made in France.

CONDITION
The set is in very good to excellent vintage condition. Minor signs of wear to the fabric of the skirt, in particular a mark at the front near the waist that remains after dry cleaning. The metal eyelets of the belt are slightly rusty from age. The blouse is in excellent condition. We are not 100% sure if the belt is an original part of the set, but it comes from the same estate and dates from the same period.

All pieces are tagged a FR 38 but run very small and will fit a DE 32-34, FR 34-36, IT 38-40, US 0-2, UK 6-8, XXS-XS
