This rare and exceptional January 1952 issue of British Vogue features an iconic Lisa Fonssagrives cover, stunningly beautiful advertisements and fashion illustrations, and magnificent fashion and lifestyle photography by Honeyman, Irving Penn, Henry Clarke, Cecil Beaton, Anthony Denney, and others. Among the highlights of this issue is Irving Penn's iconic picture of the "12 Beauties: The most photographed models in America" that was first published in US Vogue from May 1st, 1947, and shows Marilyn Ambrose, Dana Jenney, Meg Mundy, Helen Bennett, Lisa Fonssagrives, Betty McLauchlen, Dorian Leigh, Andrea Johnson, Lily Carlson, Elizabeth Gibbons, Kay Hernan, and Muriel Maxwell. Irving Penn first met Lisa Fonssagrives, who would become his wife in 1950, when shooting this picture. A mix of black-and-white and brilliantly coloured pages, excellent paper quality. From the first to the last page, this issue is a visual feast, a testimony of its time and highly collectible.

This magazine is in excellent vintage condition, especially considering its age, with only minor signs of wear. Please note a strong musty smell from decades of storage. A small hand-written note on the cover. Pages minimally wavy towards the spine. Colours are brilliant, binding intact. A superb issue.
