COURRÈGES Fall 1976 Documented Vintage Silk Organza Hooded Maxi Evening Coat Size XS

This incredible vintage Courrèges evening coat or hostess gown from Fall 1976 is made of fine cream silk organza and has a widely flared, floor-length cut. The coat is opulently adorned with ruffles and has a detachable large ruffled hood that is simply to die for. The coat is made with great attention to detail - look at the cute ribbons at the front and back of the collar and on the cuffs! It fastens with hidden press studs. 100% silk, fully lined except for the sleeves. Made in France. A rare and highly collectible piece by André Courrèges, very typical of his work in the 1970s when he frequently incorporated playful ruffles into his designs. CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition with a few minor flaws, all tolerable and not distracting, all shown in the detail pictures. There are two small holes in the lower back, a small pink pen mark on the hood (did not come out when dry cleaned) and water marks on one sleeve right next to the shoulder and on the hem. Otherwise very fresh and without damage or major flaws.
