This spectacular couture evening dress from Emilio Pucci is made of printed silk organza in black, dark brown, and silver-gray, decorated with the iconic “Emilio” signature. The entire dress is covered with thousands of hand-applied sequins and crystals, giving it an exceptional, luxurious weight and texture. It has a slim fit and closes with a side zipper and hook-and-eye closure. One shoulder strap has a detachable end that fastens with three snaps and two sturdy metal hook-and-eyes. The bodice is structured with boning, waist support, and an additional side zipper, lined with white silk. The skirt is lined with black silk and light mesh fabric. Made in Italy.
Based on similar pieces documented in the Taschen Pucci book, this dress appears to date from around 1980. Crystal- and sequin-embroidered evening gowns like this are among the rarest, most intricate, and highly coveted pieces from the house of Pucci. Exceptionally rare and a true collector’s treasure.
CONDITION Excellent vintage condition. Some missing crystals and slight stress in the fabric where they were attached. Sequins remain intact and complete.
