LORIS AZZARO 1970s Vintage Purple Crochet Chainmail Maxi Evening Gown Size S

This iconic and instantly recognizable vintage Loris Azzaro evening gown from the early 1970s is undoubtedly one of the designer's most coveted designs. Crafted from purple poly jersey, it features Azzaro's signature crochet and chainmail detailing in silver and purple around the waist and at the zippered cuffs. The cut is divine, with a widely scooped elasticated neckline at the front and back, an accentuated bust, the super sexy crochet and chainmail midriff following your curves and a floor-length flared skirt. The billowing sleeves end with zippered crochet and chainmail cuffs. The dress retains its original supermodel length and fastens at the back with a hand-set zipper and a metal hook and eye. No material label, the jersey is probably 100% polyester. Unlined. Finished by hand and made in France. A spectacular evening dress as well as a highly sought-after and collectible Loris Azzaro signature design, even much more fascinating on a real body than in the pictures.

CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition. We have had all the seams and original zippers checked and the worn out elastic neckline renewed by hand. Minimal signs of wear to the jersey fabric - a couple of very minor snags, a couple of faint marks on the skirt, very faint underarm discoloration that would barely photo and will go unnoticed when worn. All minor and not detracting when worn. The chainmail and crochet details are fully intact.
