PACO RABANNE 1970s Vintage Gold-Tone Chain Mail Maxi Dress Size S

This iconic and highly collectible vintage Paco Rabanne dress is crafted from thousands and thousands of die-cut plastic pieces with a glossy gold front and the characteristic matte green back. These instantly recognizable dresses were made around 1970 by the Swiss company Baumann, which also made monumental curtains and wall pieces for Rabanne, and our piece is one of the most beautiful designs we have ever seen from this range. The tiny individual pieces which have all been assembled by hand are held by chains and are connected with gold-tone metal rings. The construction allows the dress to mold to your body shape. The sleeveless design features a v-neckline with an additional decorative chain, a daring low back and a full-length skirt with side slits. The front, hem and side slits are adorned with larger dangling discs that follow your every move. The length of this dress is exceptional. For reference - our mannequin is 1,83 m tall. The dress slips on to wear and comes with extra pieces and links. Like all Rabanne dresses from the Baumann line, this piece is unlabeled.
