YVES SAINT LAURENT Fall 1977 Vintage Black Wool Maxi Cape w/ Tassels

Capes played a major role in Yves Saint Laurent's oeuvre and appeared in many of his collections over the decades. This documented piece from Fall 1977 is crafted from a soft and lightweight black wool fabric and features a black wool capelet and long twisted cords with the most beautiful silky tassels. The full-length cape is cut flared with a hem circumference of approximately 2,5 meters/2.7 yards and moves dramatically when worn. It ties to close at the front. One of Yves Saint Laurent's landmark designs, in excellent condition. No composition label, probably 100% wool. Unlined. Made in France.
