YVES SAINT LAURENT c. 1971 Vintage Pleated Maxi Skirt
This rare and iconic Yves Saint Laurent pleated skirt from c. 1971 is made of a lightweight wool fabric with a graphic pattern in muted shades of beige, grey, olive green and black. Yves Saint Laurent took this pattern from an original Peruvian motif. Flared with sharp pleats, maxi-length. The skirt wraps around the body and closes with two hidden hooks and eyes and a hidden snap button at the waist. 100% wool, unlined. Made in France. This iconic piece has been modeled by YSL's muse Loulou de la Falaise outside the Rive Gauche Boutique at Rue de Tournon, pictured by Umberto Guidotti for ELLE magazine, 1972. This skirt has also been worn by French actress Mireille Darc for a photo shoot with Michael Holtz at her home in the 16th arrondissement of Paris in 1971.
