The coveted and highly sought after Champagne by Yves Saint Laurent was created by perfumer Sophia Grojsman and released in 1993. It is a fruity-floral scent with fruity, floral, spicy, chypre and sweet main accords. The production of this fragrance was apparently discontinued.

On a side note, after outraged French champagne producers sued Yves Saint Laurent over concerns that their prestigious sparkling wine's name and image were being diluted, the perfume was ultimately banned from being sold under the name “Champagne.” In response, the fragrance was relaunched in 1997 under the new name “Yvresse” - a clever play on the French word ivresse, meaning intoxication. As a result, the original and now-infamous “Champagne” bottles were produced only for a brief period and have since become rare collector’s items with a fascinating backstory.
