YVES SAINT LAURENT Spring 1983 Vintage Documented Flower Evening Jacket Size S
This spectacular and incredibly rare vintage Yves Saint Laurent jacket is one of the highlights of his gorgeous floral themed Spring 1983 Prêt-à-Porter collection and was modeled on the runway by Mounia and Iman. The jacket is crafted from hundreds and thousands of silken petals that are all hand-applied to vertical bands that sit on a silky purplish blue base fabric. The blue, red and yellow petals form a dense sea of flowers, some of the blossoms are further adorned with black stamina. The cropped and boxy jacket is a substantial, voluminous piece that closes with a single hook at the top front. Largely done by hand, extremely rare and highly collectible. No material tag. Made in France.

Very good vintage condition with wear consistent to age and use. Base fabric and same fabric lining in excellent condition. Please do note colour fading to the petals, especially on the left sleeve. Signs of use to some of the stamina, flattening, frayed edges and marks, smudges etc. to some of the petals. One of the internal shoulderpads has gotten loose and dislocated within the lining and would need to be reattached.
No size tag, wil perfectly fit a D 36, F 38, I 42, US 6, UK 10, SMALL but is relatively free in size and would also be great for one size up or down (XS or MEDIUM), especially as the jacket may be worn open as it was on the runway.
